Roots in real music culture
Chris’s musical journey began early, raised on a rich diet of Funk, Soul, Philly grooves, Motown, and Disco through his father’s influence. Growing up during the breakdancing era, he was also shaped by early hip-hop, electro, and pioneers like Kraftwerk and Arthur Baker, laying the foundations for a lifelong love of rhythm, groove, and musical innovation.

Introduced to house music in 1986, Chris came of age in the legendary North West UK scene of the 1990s immersed in a unique melting pot of rave culture, indie, house, and electronic music. From iconic clubs like The Hacienda and Cream, to tuning into Stu Allan and New Dawn on Sunday nights, he was constantly digging for new sounds, refining his taste, and shaping a sound that balanced underground credibility with dancefloor energy.

His father also ran the iconic Adelphi student and live music venue in Preston, giving Chris rare access to secret warm-up gigs and a true cross-section of live and underground culture. From The Cure, The Smiths, Joy Division, Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, Primal Scream and Britpop, to psychedelic rock, ska, northern soul, warehouse raves, festival stages, and classic disco influences like Larry Levan... Chris was immersed in a musical environment that truly shaped his knowledge and DJ capabilities.

This deep, eclectic upbringing is a huge part of what makes his DJ sets so musically rich, emotionally intelligent, and instinctively crowd-aware able to bridge scenes, generations, and genres while always keeping the dance floor at the heart of the journey.

In the 2010s, Chris joined Six15, became a resident at Edit alongside Phil Rose, and produced and performed as Jaegerossa. More recently, under his Kenny Jaeger alias, he has worked closely with the Quantize team reinforcing his standing as a credible, in-demand artist in the modern house scene.
