Chris Hunter / Kenny Jaeger / Chris Jaegerossa… a man with a number of pseudonyms but certainly no stranger to the music industry, nor the turntables or playing to a crowd.
Whether playing an intimate social gathering, bar, festival or club he knows how to set the tone.
House music has been a big part of his life for more than a quarter of a century and the roots of house flows in his blood. Brought up on a diet of Funk, Northern Soul, Philly grooves, Motown and disco, his fathers musical influence is very evident.
In 1986 he was introduced to house music, it was the natural progression from his musical up bringing and quickly became a passion. Based in the North west of the UK the 1990's house music scene of Blackburn, Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester were also influential seeing DJ's take the crowd on a journey.
This era also presented numerous opportunities for Chris to hone his skills and play to appreciative fans too. He turned 18 in 1994 and he landed a residency at UCLAN on a Tuesday night called Free 2 Dance. This led on to other local residencies at Cheeky Monkey, Green and Feel where he hosted the backroom with Jamie Lloyd as Da Mentalistz.
In the early noughties while working at the legendary Shaboom & Blaktrax labels in Blackpool, he was also a regular Hype Chart contributor at DJ Mag too.
Later residencies included the Revolution bars, private bookings via Six15 and a residency at Edit alongside Phil Rose as the duo Jaegerossa. He is equally as at home holding the fort for an entire evening as well as making an appearing for a guest set.
Chris has been known to entertain celebrities at private events and also in the exclusive bars of Manchester and Cheshire. Whether playing one or multiple genres, his musical melting pot of soul, house, funk and disco brings re edited grooves, soulful songs, hands in the air anthems and funky bass lines all together.
He has graced the decks over the years in various guises including as one of Da Mentalistz, Jaegerossa and more recently as Kenny Jaeger, playing internationally in Ibiza, Miami, Italy, France and Eastern Europe.
Chris has taken control of the DJ booth for legendary clubs including Eden (Ibiza) Feel, Bed, Cream and The End, often performing along side some of the industries major players: Joey Negro, Greg Wilson, Pete Tong, Full Intention, DJ Sneak, Layo & Bushwaka, Grant Nelson, Crazy P & Hot Toddy, Julia McKnight, K Klass, Yousef, Timo Maas, Copyright, Graeme Park, David Morales, Felix Da Housecat...
He makes regular world wide radio appearances too including Grant Nelson’s Housecall, Triple Dee Radio Show, and his own show The Filter on the D3EP Radio Network alongside Adam Rynhart & Sandy Turnbull.
Studio wise past projects have included work with DJ Spen, Robert Clivilles, Groove Junkies, Redsoul, Changing Planes and has gained support on productions from the likes of Pete Tong (on BBC Radio 1’s Essential Selection) Opolopo, Tony Humphries, Benji Candelario, CJ Mackintosh, Mark Radford, and Mr V.
